A scarf is a piece of fabric, usually long and narrow, worn on or near the head. A scarf length can be 40 inches to 66 inches long. A scarf can be worn for warmth, fashion, cleanliness, or religious purposes. Many scarves have fringed ends while others can have clean lines. They make great fashion accessories and can complement your dressing style in unique ways.

• Religion Muslim women wear head scarves as a sign of modesty.
