CARRY BAGS:
The smallest type, are basically made from plastic,
nylon and other materials. These bags are constructed to
accommodate the essentials such as the golf clubs, a few small
golf accessories and balls. They are designed to be carried
manually around the course, so are lighter than the cart
equivalents. They have the additional feature of a built in
stand mechanism. When the bag is placed on the floor, legs
automatically "pop-out" from the side of the bag, so that it
stands up by itself while the golfer plays his/her stroke.
TRAVEL BAGS: They are
designed to protect clubs during transport. There are two types
of golf travel bags: hard and soft.

For beginner golfers, golf bags are
definitely a must. There are things that one should know while
buying golf bags. Carry bags are golf bags that are used when
one plans to have a lot of walking on the golf course. They are
quite common because of their light weight. A Carry Bag is the
best choice if people want to carry their own bag while playing
golf. Cart golf bags are those that you use when walking is not
possible (as some golf courses prohibit walking), and riding a
golf cart is the option.
One should look for a bag that is
designed with pockets that will face out away from a golf cart
for easy access. They are not recommended unless a cart or
trolley is used, as they do not have a stand of their own. A
stand bag is chosen when one likes to walk the golf course for
exercise. Furthermore, a stand bag allows the option to ride a
golf cart, use a pull cart, or walk the course. However they are
not protective for travelling. An important thing to consider
when purchasing a golf bag is its weight. This is one of the
most important things to know. Golf bags should be light enough
to be carried or carted easily, but sturdy enough to hold your
clubs and protect them. Travel bags are of two types- hard and
soft bags. Hard bags provide the best protection for golf clubs,
since they are rigid suitcases made specifically for protecting
golf clubs and are virtually indestructible. The one major down
side to hard cases, however, is their cost - they start at
several hundred dollars and go way up from there. One may not be
able or may feel it's not necessary to invest that much in a
travel case for the clubs. In that case, soft golf club travel
bags may be chosen, which start at around $75-$100. If the clubs
are properly packed in these bags, they are effective in
protecting the clubs. Tour golf bags are generally used by
touring professionals.
